Big Thanks to the Corning FFA and Adams County Farm Bureau

Several books were donated by the Corning FAA and the Adams County Farm Bureau today. The books are based on agriculture.

4 of Mr. Sonntag's Ag. Business class came down to read and present the books today. They did a wonderful job of reading and asking us questions about agriculture.

The books will be placed in the library where all grade levels can have access.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT IN READING!

Christmas Gifts have ARRIVED!

KB really enjoys seeing books they have picked out in the library. I hope this is something they will come back and look at years to come!

Each student has their name written in the cover of both books purchased for the school library in the front cover.

Some students have already taken these wonderful books home!
Thank you for such a wonderful gift!

Valentine's Day

Valentines may be brought at any time! KB is PREPARED!

For a Valentine's treat KB got a bag of M&M's and they had to graph them and talk about the data.

What is new!

This month we have changed the room around to make way for the new lockers in the hallway and the smartboard that should be coming in this month.

We made our class library bigger and brought our bulletin boards inside the classroom.

We have more room to work around our classroom!

Also for math we have added and estimation jar. This week is estimating how many marshmallows are filling it up.

February News Letter

Reading: Guided Reading
Please keep your child reading at home. Guided Reading books are leveled books based on your child’s specific needs. I meet with GR groups once/ twice a week with their book. Groups change weekly based on their skill level.
If you child gets stuck while reading encourage them to find words they know and sounds they can stretch out.

Sight Word Olympics
KB is ready to start working hard towards the gold medal. KB has been doing great so far. Almost 80% of our class has already received or will be receiving 3 colored ribbons.

Star of the Week
Star of the week the second time around will be about the student and making words from their name. It is also a time for friends and family to come to visit our classroom and be a mystery reader. A note with more details will go home for each star of the week.

Thank You
Thank you to Mr. Naugle for being our Olympic Judge in January. Thank you for our mystery readers Mrs. Avila, Mrs. Boswell, and Mrs. Cobb.

V
alentine’s Day Party
We will be having our class party on Feb. 13. if your child would like to give out valentines this year please make sure that they give them to the whole class, so no one feels left out. There will be a list of classmates and teachers on the back.
