May's Final News Letter

Thank you!
Thank you to all of the grandmothers that came into read to our classThank you to the parents that will be joining us on our upcoming field trip down town. A huge thank you to those of you who have been a part of our class this school year.

Math that keeps on going……
Throughout the summer please keep challenging your student’s skills in math. Have them measure things like the rain, count change out when you are going shopping, count the cows in the field, telling the time when you are leaving. Whatever it might be please continue to have math in their daily lives.

Summer Reading
This summer I will send home 3 extra reading books, 1 at their level of reading and 2 that are a step higher. Reading is the most important thing to continue in the summer months so they are ready to continue on successfully in first grade.
Writing Around Ideas
Please continue to have your student write in the summer. One idea would be them journal about their day before heading to bed. KB loves to write words that they see, if you are in a restaurant you can have them write down the words they see. If they are outside they really enjoy writing down the things they see.

DVD/ Pictures
KB’s DVD will be sent home Monday, May 18th. If for some reason yours doesn’t work, please let me know before the end of that week. If you would like pictures burned to a CD or put on a jump drive I would be more than happy to do so if you provide those things before the end of the school year.
