Plants

This week we will be looking at plants. We will be finding out how they grow. We will be identifying the parts of the plant. KB will be looking at books, pictures, plants, and movies to help them learn about plants.

needs dirt/soil to protect roots

they have leaves

Flowers grow on them

What we Want to Know/ What we Learned
Do bugs eat plants? Yes, they get hungry!
What happens when plants get old? They die and help the soil
What are the parts of the plants and their jobs?
Roots: Feed plants, helps it to not fall over, and they are underground
Leaves: Make food for the plant (sugar) gives us oxygen with outhem we wouldn't live.
Stems: like a stra moves food, is a helper
What do plants do for us? Give us food to eat, help give us air breath
How do they grow? Need sunlight, water, and air



We will be watching the Magic School Bus video from unitedstreaming.com that talks about what it takes to make a plant grow. KB will soon find out that plants need sun, air, water, and other minerals to help them grow!
