This is not in KB, but it has been diagnosed in the elementary school.
Scarlet fever is and acute, contagious disease. It normally follows a streptococcal infection, usually of the throat. Symptoms will vary. Possible sore throat, swelling of the lymph nodes of the neck, throat red in color, tonsils covered with white or yellow patches, fever of 101-104, faces flushed, nausea/vomiting, headache, chills, strawberry tongue, malaise.
A bright red rash usually appears on the second day. It may be mild or it could be wide spread. The rash almost always begins on the face, neck, or upper chest.
Incubation period is 1-3 days. A student may return to school when they have been without a fever for 24hours.
